I have a client who received form 1099 from his brokerage accounts, two of them. They both contain negative sales and the description is that they are calls. When I enter them into the Lacerte system, it says they are not allowed and the return cannot be electronically filed. Is there another way i can enter these into the system, like maybe showing them as just cost basis and not sales?

There was a similar question here a week or two back. I think it involved traded options, but puts, not calls. There are situations where negative numbers show up in the proceeds column, and Lacerte may not have figured out how to deal with it.
