Grandma claiming son and granddaughter

Grandma wants to claim Son and his two children as dependents this year. They do not live with her but she provided more than 50% . Lacerte is showing no credit when I enter them in as dependents. She has no taxable income.   Any idea why?

What credit did you expect to get?

Have you used the irs.gov site to compute the appropriate credit you might think grammy should get?

I did the test again on my computer (before on my phone bad choice had to see all options.)

Grandma can claim they as dependents. Now need to tackle why they are not shows up in lacerte.

Thank you for the IRS link.

I've never heard of a qualifying relative credit.

No income tax equals no credit.

Sometimes it equals refundable child tax credit.
