Data entry fields

Allow all data fields to be used for negative amounts. Most data fields allow addition and subtraction in the same input field but not all data fields allow that. The entire software package should be consistent.

The software should also be consistent on the formatting. Some fields will include a , when keying in over $999 and some don't. Not sure why it's not consistent throughout all of lacerte

There's an existing thread on this, with 100's of up-votes.   Intuit has an explanation, but basically state there will be no changes.

Thanks @abctax55, you're spot on.
In order to conform with Federal and state agency requirements, we are unable to make blanket program changes to allow negative numbers on all input fields.

However, we can look on a case-by-case basis at selected input fields within the software to determine if changes could be made which do not conflict with either Federal and/or state requirements for both print and electronic filing.

In order to review these specific sections, please provide the following information on this thread Supporting Detail doesn't allow negative numbers per line:
-Tax module (Individual, Partnership, etc.)
-Agency (Federal) (State)
-Screen Number
-Input field Description
-Code Number.

Thanks for the update.

I'll start a list - but this is SO not a priority project for us tax pros in the middle of March.
