In partnership returns when making Section 1.163(j)-9 election the regular depreciation needs to use ADS not MACRS. That works fine for regular depreciation BUT AMT depreciation does not compute properly. In fact, the AMT cost basis is reduced by the accumulated depreciation, for no reason, and the resulting AMT depreciation is no correct leading to a K-1 Line 17 Code A amount which is not correct.
