The following diagnostic is generating: Depreciation exists in this return and a portion should be allocated to beneficiaries. The Lacerte program uses the ordinary income portion of DNI distributed to calculate the amount of depreciation to allocate to each beneficiary. This allocation is made prior to passive and other linitations that may have resulted in there being no ordinary income and therefore no basis available to make the allocation. Use Beneficiary Overrides to enter each beneficiary's percentage in "Percent Depreciation [xxx.xxx]" [Screen 43, code 502] or enter each beneficiary's amount in 'Depreciation [9A]" [Screen 43, code 13].
