Tax Plan- Multiple Scenario Feature

padmag

Oftentimes I work with clients who want to know what their situation is in different scenarios. It would be good to have a report with multiple scenarios available.

Thanks for the idea! We appreciate your recommendation. We will keep this idea under review for now and seek more customer feedback.

We designed Intuit Tax Advisor to be significantly more efficient than traditional tax planners that include columnar scenarios. The ITA strategies can easily be toggled on and off during client conversations to instantly update scenarios. ITA is designed to support real time conversations and planning. We understand the traditional process included creating multiple scenarios before meeting with the client. Try toggling strategies and let us know what you think.

Hi @padmag! At what point in the ITA experience would you expect to break out into multiple scenarios?

One example is entity selection - I think this has been mentioned before (eg C Corp vs S Corp vs Sole Prop). Other examples include various salary levels, retirement contributions, foreign earned income exclusion vs. foreign tax credit, etc)

As for the other examples you mentioned, our team is currently interested and exploring the logistics of this idea. We will update this post as we find out more.

You should be able to print the Review Plan tab as a report so that client can see the various scenarios and tax savings for each in the same columnar format.

In other words, currently they just have to trust that the PDF client package which just has the net overall tax savings is correct. Instead you can show them the numbers in how you arrive at the tax savings amount in the client report.

Many tax planning softwares offer a scenario columnar report like this.

Thanks, CHM! I'll try this.
