Include Information from Review Plan in the Client Report

dleinaweaver

I come from the world of using Lacerte Tax Planner.  Looking at the Client Report tab, information is too sparse to provide any meaningful information for discussions with my clients.  I have clients that want to see the baseline (prior year data) in one column, plus scenarios in the succeeding column(s) that present scenarios for the current year.  That way they can trace the impact of tax planning decisions on key subtotals like total income, adjusted gross income, QBI deduction, taxable income, tax due, etc.

Accordingly, I would like to see information on the Review Plan tab be included in the Client Report.  Also, it would be helpful to have multiple scenarios for tax planning/projections in the client report, again like Lacerte Tax Planner

Thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback. Intuit Tax Planner (ITA) was not designed to take the place of the Lacerte Tax Planner. One of the challenges we face with traditional tax planning is that it does not communicate tax savings, or your expertise as an advisor. In ITA you can utilize tax strategies, show tax savings, and, empower your clients to reach thier financial goals. You can add multiple strategies to one tax plan, as well as create additional tax plans with the same client file, using only one credit. More information is available in the upcoming Virtual conference, and in Live and On demand Webinars

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NEEDED!!!!

We need to be able to see the end results of planning and strategies so that we can use this information to adjust things like estimated tax payments and withholdings with clients.

Unfortunately @Intuit_David  Lacerte Tax Planner is not available to me as I use ProConnect Tax Online. The tax planner that was included with PTO is no longer there as it was "replaced by ITA". If ITA was as you say "not designed to take the place" of a tax planner than my question is why was the tax planner removed from PTO and not left in for tax planning? I understand the concept of tax strategies and love the reports and interface but without projection reports to use in conjunction with ITA I cannot properly ADVISE a client on their taxes.

Agree with the OP here.

The ITA reporting outputs are fine for proposal purposes, but the target clients are more sophisticated individuals. This is everyone's target market for more advisory services.

By not having a more substantive reporting function for information that is clearly right there in the system, I'll just stick with my Excel document I've used for years. I'll have to transfer the information over anyway.

It'd be worth it to have a nice clean product to put in front of my client though, if that can be modified.

I want to say to clients:
- Here's what happens if we do nothing: $X
- But here's what happens if you use the strategies in this report: $Y

Right now ITA only shows $Y in the report, which is less useful information for tax planning purposes.
