Have been doing the same thing the whole time. Think they just dropped that option for 2023 without letting users know of the change.

Just checked and still didn't see it. Do you actually see it?

Suppose that there is the possibility that Form 1116 Schedule B need not need to be in a binary/specified name.  Wondered, as for business returns, believe these were the only specific labels required: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-schema/tax-year-2023-recommended-names-and-descriptions-for-pdf-files-by-code-and-section.pdf Didn't see a list for individual returns.  Will update once any word from Proseries, if I ever get through...
Well, hopefully, not.  Have been trying to notify Proseries - but incredibly hard to get in touch with someone.  Many thanks!

Agree with you. I was of two minds - whether to wait or to try. Will see it Proseries fixes this. Do recall that when they first introduced this new Form/schedule - we had to file it under 'Other' - and then, the following year, Proseries put in the '1116 Schedule B' option.  Hopefully, the IRS will catch the form itself.  When I looked at the error message within the return - saw that it had properly linked the attachment with its 1116 Schedule B matching line.  Will have to contact Proseries. Suspect that as Proseries didn't have this issue last year, it is just something that someone forgot to do?? Either way, a concern. Should be an easy thing for them to fix.  Let me know if you see any updates. Cheers

As of 1/29/2024 - Proseries has not fixed (they may not even be aware of the problem).  Workaround - attached file '1116 Schedule B' as a 'Other' category attachment, disabled the error check, and transmitted and e-filed one today. It went through. But, be careful that there aren't any other errors before you do this!! Good luck!

We have a business to run. Proseries has 1116 Schedule B e-file ready status as 'ready,' and e-file availability starting January 29th, just three days away. In 2022, Proseries took until mid-March (less than a month from filing deadline) to get things ready to e-file. A note regarding this glitch should have been posted/flagged. It has not.    Proseries needs to get its act together.

Not seeing 'Form 1116 Schedule B' in the drop down menu for attaching pdf to return for tax year 2023 - which opens next week. Will be unable to e-file, if this is not fixed, as the program produces an error message. Anyone else having this issue?
Please let me know if you hear of any updates.
1040NR STILL NOT available!! It's 2/16/2023.  Any idea when or if it will ever be available - or, will they delay it yet again?? So, frustrating. Unreliable.
They keep changing it. Initially, it was 2/9/2023. Do you know what the holdup is?
When will the 1040NR be ready to download?? Initially it said 2/9/2023, but now is saying 2/16/2023. What's going on?? Very late not to have it online now.,

Further 'glitch' that needs fixing.  In some cases, AMT carryover amounts from prior year is NOT showing up on line 10 or going through and producing a 1116 Schedule B AMT!! Not the case that it is not showing up if not being used.  Proseries/technical - please FIX this!!  1116 Schedule B issue - NOT FULLY RESOLVED!!
Many thanks!!
Question: Do you need to print out and attach 1116 Schedule B before e-filing? Ask, as when I look at the Print menu/Filing Copy - 1116 Schedule B is already checked off.    Many thanks.
Unfortunately, still not there today 3/10/2022 - which is the date that they have when I double checked just now.

Drake already had the following informational/tutorial page set up: https://kb.drakesoftware.com/Site/Browse/17563/1116-Schedule-B-Foreign-Tax-Carryover-Reconciliation-Schedule-Drake21   It looks like you have to still attach the PDF, but that it will be automatically generated, once you go through the various inputs. Because of time needed to go through the learning curve on a new software - thinking is to shift over with the next tax season. Have noticed that other firms were better prepared and faster in getting their software e-file ready than Proseries. Even if they have the forms, for example for PFICS 8621 - not all the functionalities are integrated into the system, where you would be able to e-file for all scenarios - especially for the more complex ones. So, a lot of manual inputs, adjustments, etc. - as well as having to paper file.  Sense that Proseries lags when it comes to having especially new or more complex scenarios/forms. If your business is mostly for simple straight forward returns for those based in the US, or for those based abroad but earning less than the FEIE, then, good software, but if not, then, not always dependable, and quite slow on the take.    Good luck!

Guess the next question is - for those who have manually adjusted and e-filed already - what happens once 1116 Schedule B is actually released for e-filing. If you didn't use it, then, would it create issues for 2022?? If not, what needs to be done - especially if we didn't undo the manual adjustment after e-filing?   Hope they think these things out IN ADVANCE NOW - and provide guidance - vs waiting until the problem is detected...
