July 2021 tax and compliance deadlines

While you’re busy getting the barbecue fired up, and hanging out with family and friends, don’t forget about some important tax and compliance deadlines for July. Here’s the list for your review; feel free to share these with your clients.

In July, it’s recommended that you:

• Alert clients to 2021 mid-year tax planning opportunities.
• Schedule Continuing Professional Education for 2021.

Key Compliance Dates:

Friday, July 2 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on June 26–29.

Thursday, July 8 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on June 30–July 2.

Friday, July 9 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 3–6.

Monday, July 12 – Tipped employees who received $20 or more in tips during June report them to the employer on Form 4070, Employee’s Report of Tips to Employer.

Wednesday, July 14 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 7–9.

Thursday, July 15 – Monthly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax for June.

Friday, July 16 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 10–13.

Wednesday, July 21 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 14–16.

Friday, July 23 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 17–20.

Wednesday, July 28 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 21–23.

Friday, July 30 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on July 24–27.

Note: Because July 31 falls on a Saturday, end-of-month filings are pushed to Monday, August 2. Please see the August Tax Calendar.
