It may depend on the form but a lot of it this year has to do with the IRS not programming a schema for efiling this information.  So it's not "already in the tax return" until it's attached as a PDF.

But apparently these new forms were so very important to include this year even though none of the information on them will be processed by a computer nor will they be looked at by a human unless an audit comes up.

I'm ready for a new IRS Commissioner . . .
