You need to provide the Form 1116 Schedule B carryover summary in 1041.  I don't understand how it can be available in the individual software, but not trusts.  We pay a lot of money for your subscription, and having to prepare a PDF form for something that effects TONS of trust returns is unacceptable.

Update: Form 1116 Sch B, Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule is now estimated to be ready for print on 3/10.

Although Form 1116 Sch B is not supported for e-file, you will be able to E-File returns with the 1116 Schedule B attached as a PDF, once that form is finalized.

Can you please let us know whether you are working on this form becoming available for fiduciary returns?  Thank you.

The 1041 program is the redheaded stepchild of Lacerte.

Level 2

This is RIDICULOUS!

Level 3

It's one thing after another with this company.  So frustrating!

Level 5

Absolutely ridiculous considering the prices increases year to year for this software and its lousy support. Fiduciary returns needs this schedule TODAY not April 16th.

Level 5

The silence is deafening LaCerte but it doesn't go unnoticed. This is a huge disappointment to all of us who pay you thousands to have these schedules ready every year.

On 3/12/2022 this is partly repaired but now the carryovers don't reflect at all in the general information and the AMT Form 1116, Schedule B doesn't generate anymore.  Conflicting diagnostics too.  Can't get a simple 1041 with foreign tax credit carryovers to work at all now.  Form says still not available this release.  I agree with other commentators.  There is no excuse for this, not at your prices!

Level 5

The forms status list now says Form 1116 Sch B for fiduciaries will be released 3/15 - the detail page is available but the form won't generate until the 15th when it is released. It looks like we still can't e-file without first attaching as a PDF but it looks like it might auto attach the Sch B. Today it requires me to fill out the details page for a schedule B. Not sure if after the update on 3/15 if the form will autogenerate without me having to fill anything in (since the information is in the client record somewhere in order to correctly the carry forward every year.) Still a wait and see on this and the General Info page. Still very disappointing that all of this is happening without any heads up from Lacerte on whether we should wait for them to act. Meanwhile, I have beneficiaries waiting for their  k-1s. (Screaming into the void.)

I have seen no update for Lacerte yet today. What is the ETA on this form and schedule b?

Level 5

The update finally landed but the diagnostic suggested that once available it would auto attach the pdf. It is not. Did I misread? Or is there more to come?

Hello @pat , I want to make sure I understand your question, if you are trying to auto attach the pdf,  the setting may need to be turned on. Try going to the auto attach setting this can be found under settings > then select options > setup tab > make sure YES is selected in auto generate and attach pdf's to e-files option.

If this doesn't help, please let me know so that I may better assist you.

Thank you. I will try it.

@IntuitBrittneyS Our auto attach setting is always set to Yes. No change needed for this year or this form. However, I do not see Sch B as an attachment on these returns.  We have been scanning and attaching them. Please advise.
