When I go to update my easyacct, it gives me an error that says:

Error occurred on file:

Please try again later. If this error continues, please contact technical support.

I've tried restarting,  reinstalling and open as admin but it still is doing this. It gives no error code just a thin box.

I figured it out myself.  I went online to Intuit and downloaded the file from there instead of the file on my computer.  Apparently I had an older file for the current version.
