That's the thing.  I cannot find the email now - it was in my inbox [I got it last Wednesday] and now I can't find it.  I ended up calling PS support and they could not find anything either.  It did not make a lot of sense to me either, as the only thing PS would care about is the EFIN number.  We check the box in our preparer info that we confirmed our PTIN number.  The one positive of that email was that it did remind me to renew my PTIN.  The IRS site opened today to do so.
