A ProSeries error on Iowa 1040, Schedule 1, line 14 in your tax return has caused a miscalculation of the amount for the additions to federal income or overpayment received in 2023. This miscalculation caused the line 14 amount to be doubled which incurred an overpayment to the state of Iowa. 

The ProSeries miscalculation was released into the Iowa product on 3/20/24 and the resolution was released on 3/23/24. The only returns impacted would have been filed between the dates of 3/20/24 - 3/22/24. Iowa returns when opened, will reflect the corrected information. This will  include the corrected refund or amount owed.

In order to resolve, preparers will need to paper file an Iowa Amended return. Preparers with impacted returns will receive an in product alert with additional instructions on how to amend.
