I don't think so but I am not sure... I do not think you can transfer from one module into another for a client... Just my opinion

Thank you. I know you can transfer from 1120 to 1120S and others but I can't find anything for 1040 to 1041. ughhhh

You are welcome... someone should be able to answer that question for you on this forum so I would just wait a little bit for the answer... it would be nice if we could call customer support and get competent answers in a prompt manner....

I finally called support and spent 30 minutes, no you can't transfer from a 1040 to a 1041. Thank you.

What would transfer? The name and ID number will be totally different, are you looking to transfer assets? If you use Fixed Asset Manager I believe you can move your asset lists from one type of return to another (I dont use it, but I feel like Ive seen this mentioned by others in the past)

But why would anyone even want to transfer assets if you get a step up in basis?

Client died last year with about 7 rental properties, some royalty income, k1s, brokerage 1099s and 3x4 dozen assorted 1099 int & div.. the income will continue for years while the mess gets sorted out… it would be nice to push a button and see all that junk magically populate from the 1040 to the 1041

It would be nice if Intuit had volunteer programmers who could add that feature at no cost. However, there are probably about 1,000 users who would never use the feature for every one user who might. Before taking up a collection for your convenience, consider whether this is Software Socialism.
