Is a form 8867 required when filing a return that qualifies for EIC,CTC, and files as HOH as a non-paid preparer?

Client has earnings around $20,000, child 7 /8 months of year. Being non paid Pro series did not show the 8867 as an error

The title of the form says "Paid Preparer's Due Diligence Checklist". So logically it would not be required for a non-paid preparer.
