Why would a Social Security number say it is invalid when I know it isn't. Just inputted for the first time on a K-1 in form 1065 but have filed may 1040's in the past for person and have seen the card.

Do you have the partner marked as “individual” on the K-1 worksheet?

Yes the Partner is shown as individual but the
business is a Disregarded sole member LLC
so I wonder if that is causing me an issue

A sole member LLC files a schedule C, not a 1065

Would this create an invalid SS number if I haven’t said it was a disregarded sole member? Because I tried both ways. I still need to file the Form 568 for California they say.
