I have a client with approx. 66 pages of stock sales in two accounts.  I scanned and attached one to the electronic return when I try to attach the other account I get a message states that the combined attachments exceed the 20,480 KB.  Is there any type of work around?  Combine them or shrink them.  I really don't want to input literally hundreds of stock sales.

thank you for your time in advance

Check your scanning resolution.  If possible, lowering the scanning resolution reduces the file size.  I think resolutions down to 200 are probably legible.

Do we really have to make them legible?

Try scanning as one document to see if that gets you under the limit.  My version of Adobe allows me to shrink the size of the pdf file.  If you have that capability try that.  If not, you can always do a Google search to see if there are any freebies out there.  If worse comes to worse, do it the old fashioned way and mail the attachments.

As my friends suggested.  Also, check that you have OCR turned off - OCR often creates huge files because the texts within the file would have to be indexed for searches.
