I scanned clients 1099 composite PDF. It did not populate the 1099-B into the 8949 proceeds from broker transactions.
What am I missing?
thanks

Scan and Import is hit or miss with some documents.
Id just use manual entry and summarize the transactions, quicker, simpler, done.

Summarize the totals short term covered, short term non-covered, long term covered, long term non-covered, etc.
You dont have to enter 10 pages of transactions. You can attach the 1099B as a pdf if you'd like.

I always attach Form 1099B as a pdf for the non-covered transactions. Only issue is with Morgan Stanley (go figure). Try to copy and scan their forms into something legible is next to impossible. Did they ever hear of white paper?
