Thank you.  OK, I did understand correctly then. Kid 1 I filed his tax returns, indicating he is a dependent of his parents. I filed his returns to get back the tax withholdings.   His parents get $500 Other Dependent Credit on him + $2,500 AOC.

Kid 2, right, no tax return needs to be filed on her.  Thank you!
