hi all, so i was interviewing a client going over marital status etc he tells me that they had a wedding ceremony last year but have not turned in the license. I wasnt sure how to choose his marital status on the return.. he lives in California i tried googling but got different results. does anyone know if the wedding ceremony is legally binding or is it not binding and not recognized till they file for the marriage license with the county?
