I noticed today that if you have a client who filed their tax return prior to April 18 AND set up automatic 2022 ES payments, PS will now give you an error message if you open the file stating that you cannot select an ES payment for 4/18/22 to be automatically withdrawn.
Well, in panic mode, I started to call clients to see if the payment was actually taken from their account. And, thankfully, it has been.
Another season of PS screw ups.
The message makes sense if you have NOT FILED the return yet.

right, its passed the 4/18 date, so you cant schedule a payment for 4/18 so you'll see an error upon opening the return.
If you Lock a file after EFiling, so it cant be changed by an update, you'll see a bunch of erroneous errors appear when you open the locked file.
Poor programming, I agree.

The thing is that has never happened in the past. They break things over and over that weren't broken before. Like I said, error makes sense if you're filing the return after the 1st quarter deadline.
