My client's dependent child's social security number was used fraudulently. How do we correct the issue? Shall we just file claiming the dependent anyway?
If the client is entitled to claim the child as a dependent and someone else erroneously claimed the child, absolutely file the return to include the child, you'll just have to paper file.
