I have for years and year added notes to various lines in a tax return for "internal" notes and reminders. I just stumbled upon something that says those notes are efiled to the IRS with the rest of the tax return. Is this true? I sure hope not.

Nope.
The only note (as far as I can tell) that transmits with the return is "Preparer Notes".

Thanks goodness, I was worried that all these years I was sending the IRS my notes and reminders!
Where do you even put in "preparer notes"?
