The disjoint between form 1040 and the standard deduction worksheet is not considered an "error" in the software. I assume I can go ahead and file like this?

I think I answered my own question. Apparently the standard deduction worksheet is only to be used if a person can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return. Kind of weird.
