Husband is active duty in North Carolina, wife is civilian. Their state of legal residence is Tennessee for both husband, and wife (based on husband). The spouse works and receives a W-2 in North Carolina. Would spouse need to file a Non resident North Carolina return to pay taxes on her non military state wages? Or, can she ignore the North Carolina state wages of $50,000, because she's a legal resident of Tennessee? If she doesn't have to pay North Carolina taxes, would I just zero out the NC state wages on her W-2? Thanks!
