Ok, never mind, I managed to get it "fixed". As far as I can tell, ProSeries was doing today's update in the background, so it would not connect to manual update. I restarted the program, and somehow my eye caught the tiny notification, all the way down in the left corner below homebase, that said to click on it to restart ProSeries, so it could load the updates. Bizzare. I'm definitely quitting with Intuit after 30 years; almost $3000; this is ridiculous. I've spent more time troubleshooting than preparing returns.
