When at the office, the laptop is in a dock and has two monitors. I've checked the display settings on the laptop and the RDS shortcut properties. The laptop is set for one screen and the RDS shortcut is set to match whats on the local computer. Interestingly, Lacerte 2018 displays fine. Any help would be appreciated.

I found an answer. It's quick and dirty, but it works.

  1. Right-click on the Lacerte 2017 icon and choose Properties.
  2. Click the Shortcut tab.
  3. In the Run drop-down list, select Maximized.
  4. Click the OK button.

This did the trick.

Just a guess. On the laptop - Settings > Options > Setup > End of the 1st section is Auto Pop-out Forms and Diagnostics > Set this to No
