Oregon now requires a Transit Tax to be reported via Box 14 on W-2s filed with the State. They will match this info with the taxpayers filed return. Lacerte does not include the Box 14 input on Screen 10 for Oregon Wages and State Transit Tax withheld. In addition, no cautionary diagnostics are generated if there is no input on the State taxes Screen 54.

Screen 10 does offer Box 14 Other (Ctrl + E) that might allow for the matching. I assume OR will get that information from the W-2 info provided by the employer.
I agree a slot specifically for this and a diagnostic are in order.
Here's wishing you many Happy Returns

Entering Oregon State Transit Tax Withholding
How do I enter the Oregon STI Tax Withholding reported on Form W-2 Box 14?
Solution:
- Go to Screen 10, Wages, Salaries, Tips.
- In the Wages section, scroll down to Box 14, input field "Oregon statewide transit tax withheld {OR}" (code 230)
- Enter the STI tax withheld from box 14 of the Form W-2
Note
: Entering
the STI tax withheld in input field "Oregon statewide transit tax withheld
{OR}" ( Screen 10, code 230) will include the amount on Federal Schedule
A, Line 5a. However, Lacerte will NOT include the STI tax withheld entered here
on Oregon Schedule OR-A Line 5.
The Oregon State Transit Tax (STI) withholding is NOT deductible on the
Oregon state tax return and cannot be claimed on Oregon Schedule OR-A as it is
an Oregon income tax.
