Understanding ProConnect diagnostic ref. 2406 - Retain K-1s with Utah income tax withheld

The following diagnostic is generating in the Individual return:

• Retain any K-1s with Utah income tax withheld and related documentation for your records. (ref. #2406)

Why is this diagnostic generating?

The diagnostic isn't a critical e-file diagnostic and won't prevent the return from being e-filed. The diagnostic will be generated when withholding information is entered as Nonrsident withholding.

To view the input:

1. Go to Input Return ⮕ Other ⮕ UT Other.
2. Select the State & Local tab.
3. Scroll down to the Utah Withholding Direct Input section.
4. View the Withholding type.
5. An entry of 4=Nonresident Pship/Scorp K-1 causes this diagnostic.
