When trying to send an amended New York fiduciary return that contains a PDF attachment for IT-205 Amended Explanation Document, a submission failure generates when processing the return for e-file:
"Submission Failure: We are having difficulty recognizing the data you are sending. Please try again. - 601ERRV:?, PLD_01 - ?:? - Unable to splice payload. Indicated length greater than actual length."
This error can happen when the attachment is set to e-file with the federal return when it isn't needed.
Follow these steps to resolve this error:
- Go to Screen 2.2, Electronic Filing.
- Select the PDF Attachment button.
- On the Send PDF attachment with federal return, check No.
- Try to e-file again.
