Common questions about generating OR Combined Tax Return in Lacerte

Below are solutions to frequently asked questions about generating Oregon Form SP-2021, Combined Tax Return in the Individual module of Lacerte.

  1. Go to Screen 54, Taxes.
  2. Select Oregon Combined Report Form (Form SP-2021) from the left navigation menu.
  3. Locate the Form SP-2021 Miscellaneous section.
  4. Enter 1, 2, or 3 in Form SP-2021: 1= Portland, 2=Multnomah, 3=both.
  5. Select the appropriate Schedule C name or number for business name, address, and FID number.
 

Currently, there isn't an option to generate more than one Form SP-2021 in the program.  

  1. Go to Screen 54.022Oregon Combined Report Form (Form SP-2021).
  2. Enter a 3 in Form SP-2021: 1=Portland, 2=Multnomah, 3=both.
  3. Select the applicable Schedule C name or number for business name, address, and FID number.
  4. Select Taxpayer, Spouse, or Joint.
  5. Check any applicable boxes.
    • You should only fill out the address information if it's different from Schedule C address information.
  6. Under the Business Information section, enter the Total gross receipts.
    • The taxpayer doesn't need to file Form SP-2021 if the business earned under $50,000 in gross receipts.
  7. Under Multnoman County Business Income Tax, enter the Multnomah gross income.
  8. Under City of Portland Business Income Tax, enter the Portland gross income.
  9. Complete any other applicable fields.

According to the instructions for Form SP-2021, line 4 is the total of Schedule 1 (Form 1040), lines 14, 15 and 16, plus any Oregon modifications directly related to business activities. Lacerte uses these instructions to calculate this line.
