How to resolve the TSPrint client communication error in Intuit Hosting

The following TSPrint communication error may generate if you haven't installed TSPrint on your computer on the Admin profile of a multi-profile workstation:

A client communication error occurred. Please check if you have the TSPrint Client installed. This error can also show up if you are using third party RDP client or server. Please contact our support department for more help: support@terminalworks.com

How to resolve the TSPrint communication error

  1. Double-click the red Logoff button to sign out of the hosted environment.
    • If you are missing this icon, right-click on the Start/Windows icon, select Shut down or sign out, and choose Sign out.
  2. If you have a multi-profile workstation sign into Windows as an Admin profile (otherwise, skip this step).
  3. Go to the TerminalWorks TSPrint download page.
  4. Select Download Client.
  5. Run the downloaded TSPrint_client.exe and follow the prompts to install.
  6. If you have a multi-profile workstation, sign out of your Admin profile and sign back in to your regular Windows profile (otherwise, skip this step).
  7. Sign back in to the hosted environment and test printing again.

    • If you are missing this icon, right-click on the Start/Windows icon, select Shut down or sign out, and choose Sign out.
  2. Go to the TerminalWorks TSPrint download page.
  3. Under Client select the appropriate Mac OS choice for your device.
  4. Select Download Client.
  5. Fo to your Downloads folder.
  6. Open the TSPrintClient.zip file.
  7. Launch the file TSPrintClient.pkg.
  8. Select Continue when prompted.
  9. Choose Install.
    • Note: If you encounter the error message "TSPrint can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer", Control-click the TSPrintClient.pkg and choose Open from the shortcut menu. Select Open again when prompted so the app will be added as an exception in your security settings.
  10. Once installation completes, select Close.
  11. Go to your Applications folder.
  12. Open the TSPrintClient.app.
    • You should see a printer icon added to the taskbar near the time.
  13. Sign back in to the hosted environment and test printing again.

Additional troubleshooting:

  • Windows: Make sure you're using the Remote Desktop Connection application to open your shortcut when connecting to Rightworks. Your icon should look like this:

  • Try restarting your computer in case resource conflicts are causing an issue.
  • If your local IT assisted you when setting up your hosted shortcut, ask them for help since the error could be permissions related.
  • If you still see the error, a 3rd-party application is likely causing the issue. Reach out to your local IT for additional assistance.
