SOLVEDby Intuit136Updated December 04, 2023

There are a few things that can cause letters or invoices to not print. Let's start by checking a few program settings:

Check your printer selection:

  1. Open ProSeries Professional.
  2. From the File menu, select Print Options.
  3. Select Printer, PDF, and DMS Setup.
  4. Review the Client Letters/Invoice/Client Checklist Printer.
  5. If the printer isn't correct one, select the Change button.
  6. Select the right printer and select OK.
  7. Select OK to close the print options.
  8. Try to print again.
  9. If it still doesn't print continue to the next section.

Check your print with return settings:

  1. Open ProSeries Professional.
  2. From the File menu, select Print Options.
  3. Select Print with Return.
  4. Review the Client Invoices choices. The invoice will only print with the copies of the return that are checked.
  5. .Select Control Which Letters print
  6. For Custom Letters they will only print if you have created one. Make sure to choose the letters you use for your clients.
  7. Click OK
  8. Try to print again.
  9. If it still doesn't print continue to the next section.

Restore the letter

If it's the Standard Client Letter that is not printing and the all options to Print With Return are set correctly,

  1. Open a client return.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Letters, then Manage Standard Letters.
  3. Select the letter then click the Restore button.
  4. If it still doesn't print continue to the next section.

Repairing a damaged installation

Try printing a Word document outside of ProSeries. If it doesn't print then the issue is with the printer and you will need to contact the printer manufacturer for further assistance. If you can print to a Word document then you'll need to Perform a clean install of ProSeries
