How to generate Form 8082 notice of inconsistent treatment in Lacerte

This article will assist you with generating Form 8082, Notice of Inconsistent Treatment or Administrative Adjustment Request (AAR) in Lacerte. Follow the steps below for the applicable module.

To generate Form 8082 in the Individual module:

  1. Go to Screen 20, Passthrough K-1's.
  2. Select the appropriate partnership or S corporation activity with the inconsistent treatment.
  3. Scroll down to the Notice of Inconsistent Treatment or Amended Return (8082) section.
  4. Mark the checkbox labeled Inconsistent treatment, if applicable.
  5. Mark the checkbox labeled Amended return (administrative adjustment request), if applicable.
  6. Complete any necessary information.

To generate Form 8082 in the Partnership module:

  1. Go to Screen 23, Passthrough K-1's.
  2. Scroll down to the Notice of Inconsistent Treatment or Amended Return (8082) section.
  3. Complete any necessary information.
  4. Mark the checkbox labeled Inconsistent treatment, if applicable.
  5. Mark the checkbox labeled Administrative adjustment request (AAR), if applicable.

To generate Form 8082 in the S corporation module:

  1. Go to Screen 24, Passthrough K-1's.
  2. Scroll down to the Notice of Inconsistent Treatment or Amended Return (8082) section.
  3. Complete any necessary information.
  4. Mark the checkbox labeled Notice of inconsistent treatment, if applicable.
  5. Mark the checkbox labeled Administrative adjustment request (AAR), if applicable.

To generate Form 8082 in the Fiduciary module:

  1. Go to Screen 25, Passthrough K-1's.
  2. Scroll down to the Notice of Inconsistent Treatment or Amended Return (8082) section.
  3. Complete any necessary information.
  4. Mark the checkbox labeled Inconsistent treatment, if applicable.
  5. Mark the checkbox labeled Administrative adjustment request (AAR), if applicable.
