These steps will need to be completed on all computers and other devices where you have your Right Networks.rdp shortcut remembering your credentials.

  1. Right-click on the Right Networks.rdp shortcut on your desktop and choose Edit.

  1. Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop application.
  2. From the System Preferences menu (icon that looks like a gear), select Preferences.
  3. Go to the User Accounts tab.
    • If you have multiple choices, you'll need to highlight Right Networks on the left.
  4. Enter your new password in the Password field then click Refresh.

Your credentials did not work

When attempting to access the hosted environment, you may get a Windows Security message saying: Your credentials did not work. The credentials that were used to connect to did not work. Please enter new credentials.

When getting this message, check to see what shows between the Password field and the Remember me checkbox.

If it shows only the email address that you use to access the hosted environment, then enter your password in the Password field and select OK to try to connect again.

When this area shows a different user name was used, this normally means Windows tried to use a Windows login instead of the one saved in the shortcut. Complete the following steps to resolve:

  1. Click on the Start/Windows icon.
  2. Start typing the word credential and select Credential Manager.
  3. Select Windows Credentials.
  4. In the Windows Credentials section, click on the credential ending in and select Remove.
  5. In the Generic Credential section, select Add a generic credential.
  6. Type in the from the Windows Security message in Internet or network address.
    • If you closed the message, you can right-click on the Right Networks.rdp shortcut and select Edit to see the Computer name to use in this field.
      • Windows 11 requires selecting Show More Options before Windows will give the Edit choice.
  7. Enter the email address you use to access the hosted environment in User name.
  8. Type your password in the Password field.
  9. Select OK.
  10. Use the Right Networks.rdp shortcut again to access the hosted environment.
