This article will help you when:
- When attempting to unlock a client file you may receive a message stating:
- To unlock a return after requesting signatures, please go to the E-File menu and select Cancel Request for Signatures.
- When you choose the E-file menu, the option to cancel signature request is grayed out.
To resolve the error:
- Open Lacerte to the Clients tab.
- Highlight the client file.
- From the E-file menu select Step: 1 Print e-file Signature Document.
- Select Cancel Request for Signatures.
