Lacerte will automatically generate a 1040-V payment voucher showing the amount due on an original 1040 filing. If the 1040-V isn't printing, make sure that:
- The 1040 shows an amount owed, rather than a refund or even return, and
- The return isn't marked for electronic payment on Screen 3, Miscellaneous Information/Direct Deposit.
To override the amount on Form 1040-V:
- Go to Screen 3, Miscellaneous Information/Direct Deposit.
- Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section.
- Enter the amount in Form 1040 payment (defaults to amount due) [O].
