Creating and printing e-file reports in ProSeries

ProSeries Professional and ProSeries Basic have built in e-file reports available to help manage your clients e-file data.

To generate reports:

  1. Open the EF Center in Professional or the EF Clients tab in Basic.
  2. If you want to run a report on a specific client, select that client.
  3. From the E-File menu, select Electronic Filing then Electronic Filing Reports.
  4. Under Select Report, pick the report you need.
Report nameInformation shown in Report
Accepted Amended Returns All business amended returns that have been accepted by the IRS or state taxing authorities. This report is sorted by each amended return's electronic filing status date.
Accepted ExtensionsAll client extensions that have been accepted by the IRS. This report is sorted by each return's electronic filing status.
Accepted PaymentsAll client returns that contain an accepted NY IT-204-LL Payment form or Estimated Tax Payments filed separately from the return.
Accepted ReturnsAll client returns that have been accepted by the IRS or state taxing authorities. This report is sorted by each returns electronic filing status date.
AcknowledgmentsAll client returns that have been acknowledged (accepted or rejected) by the IRS and state taxing authorities. This report is sorted first by each returns electronic filing status date, then by electronic filing status.
Electronic Filing Amended Return Status Summary Each business amended return marked for electronic filing and its electronic filing status. This report is sorted first by the electronic filing status (in ascending alphabetical order), then by the status date.
Electronic Filing Client DetailsComplete information about each client return marked for electronic filing. This report is sorted by client file name and state code (in ascending alphabetical order).
Electronic Filing Client Status HistoryA history of the clients return processing status, as well as the date, and time associated with the status messages.
Electronic Filing Extension Status SummaryEach client extension marked for electronic filing and its electronic filing status. This report is sorted first by the electronic filing status (in ascending alphabetical order), then by the status date.
Electronic Filing Payment Status SummaryEach client's NY IT-204-LL Payment form or Estimated Tax Payment filed separately. This report is sorted first by electronic filing status (in ascending alphabetical order), then by the status date.
Electronic Filing Return Status SummaryEach client return marked for electronic filing and its electronic filing status. This report is sorted first by the electronic filing status (in ascending alphabetical order), then by the status date.
Intuit Electronic Postmark ReportThe date and time a return was first filed. A printed copy of this report is accepted by the IRS as proof of filing.
Rejected Amended Returns All business amended returns that have been rejected by the IRS or state taxing authorities, with rejection reasons and solutions. This report is sorted by each amended returns electronic filing status date.
Rejected ExtensionsAll client extensions that have been rejected by the IRS, with rejection reasons and solutions. This report is sorted by each extensions electronic filing status date.
Rejected PaymentsAll client NY IT-204-LL Payment Forms or Estimated Tax Payments Filed Separately with rejection reason and solutions.
Rejected ReturnsAll client returns that have been rejected by the IRS, with rejection reasons and solutions. Thiis report is sorted by each extension's electronic filing status date.
  1. Uncheck Mask Report Data if you want the SSN's/EIN's to be show on the report.
  2. Under Create Report For you have three main choices:
    • All Electronic Filing Records: this will include all clients in the EF Center.
    • Selected Electronic Filing Records: this will include any clients you selected before opening the Electronic Filing Reports; if no clients were selected this will be grayed out.
    • Customized Electronic Filing Record Selection (As specified below): will let you filter the clients to the type, status and date range you need.
  3. Select Print to open the preview.
  4. From the File menu, you can select Print, or Export Document to generate a PDF.
