When working on an Individual return where states may share a reciprocity agreement, you may get the following diagnostic:
"The (State Name) return has not been printed due to a reciprocal agreement with (Resident State). Because only wages were earned in (State Name), no tax return is required" (ref. #12470)
This diagnostic will generate for any resident state with a reciprocal agreement, where the wages were only earned in the non-resident state.
The diagnostic is not e-file critical. It will not prevent the return from being e-filed.
For example, if a return has both MI and IL as states, and the client is marked as a full year resident of IL on Client Information, and only IA or MI wages are entered in Wages, Salaries, Tips, then the diagnostic will appear explaining why the IA / MI return was not generated.
