Generating Form 8859 in Lacerte

This article will show you how to generate Form 8859, Carryforward of the District of Columbia First-Time Homebuyer Credit, in the Individual module of Lacerte.

Refer to the IRS Instructions for Form 8859 for more information.

To generate Form 8859 in the program:

1. Go to Screen 38.2, EIC, Residential Energy, Other Credits.
2. Scroll down to the Other Credits section.
3. Enter the DC first-time homebuyer credit carryover (8859) field.
