1.  What is Link?

Link is an online portal that makes it easy for your clients to upload their tax documents and data and send them to you in a timely, secure, and organized way.

2. What does Link cost?

Link is included at no additional cost with your 2016 Intuit ProConnect Lacerte, ProConnect ProSeries, or ProConnect Tax Online tax forms purchased with your software. 

3.  How do I get started with Link?

From within Lacerte, ProSeries or ProConnect Tax Online, simply click the ‘Invite’ button from your client list view in the Link column to send your client email with instruction on how to connect with you through Link.

5.  Is this the same as the traditional organizer that I have used for years?

While there are some similarities, Link is not the same as a traditional organizer.  It gives you, the tax professional, the ability to send engagement letters, questionnaires and checklists based on prior year returns in a single email request. No more printing, collating, stuffing, labeling and shipping organizers that clients don’t use.

6.  How do my clients get their documents to me?

You will initiate an email invitation to your clients through Link.  Once your taxpayers receive and accept this invitation they will be able to complete their personalized checklist, upload their tax documents from any computer or mobile device.  The checklist helps the taxpayer monitor their progress and know when they have completed the uploads.  Once complete, you’ll have everything you need to get started. 

7.  How can I track my clients’ Link progress?

From within Lacerte, ProSeries or ProConnect Tax Online there is a client status bar located in your all clients view. Your client status will be constantly updated with their progress beginning with the invitation acceptance through the questionnaire and until they have completed uploading their documents. Within Link there is also a dashboard that allows you to manage client notifications and alerts.


8.  How can I access the documents once my clients upload them?

Tax professionals can access their clients’ documents within the dashboard inside Link. Simply download the documents and save them to your document management system.

9.  Can I send a custom engagement letter?

Yes.  Lacerte users can provide a variety of custom client communications including engagement letters using the template builder features in Link.
