Refund instead of tax owed

Hello, we filed tax and owed state (CA) tax.  To our surprise, we received a refund check.  Can anyone share their similar experience and/or advice... before I call the franchise tax board.  Thx!

1) the return was wrong, or

2) the FTB is wrong.

Review the notice, as well as check your records to see if payments *match*.

"and/or advice"

Yesterday would have been a good day to buy a lottery ticket?

You seem to be lost on the internet.

You’ve come to a Peer User community for Intuit Tax Preparation products supporting tax preparation professionals, and you may be looking for support as an individual taxpayer. Please visit the TurboTax Help site for support.

Thanks.. the choices are rhetorical and obvious i suppose.  We filed with tt and it says we owed tax.  There's no notice to review.  We only received a refund check unexpectedly.

I was hoping someone out there would chime in if it happened to them.  I only (obvious) choice is to call the tax man to have them investigated.

@Anonymus

You are not on a TurboTax forum. You are Lost. The people on the TT community might be of more help. That's why I provided the Link. Go here:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/turbotax-support/help/03/313

And ask the TurboTax people about this issue.
