How to indicate a donation to a presidential campaign fund in Lacerte

You can find the Lacerte input field to elect a donation to the Presidential Campaign Fund on Screen 3, Misc Information/Direct Deposit of the Individual module.

Follow these steps to elect a donation to the Presidential Campaign Fund:

1. Go to Screen 3, Misc Information/Direct Deposit.
2. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section.
3. Enter the applicable number in the Presidential campaign: 1=self, 2=spouse, 3=both, 4=neither, 5=blank [O] field.

The field is labeled as an override since there is a user option that can be set to apply to all clients.

Follow these steps to set the user option to apply to all clients:

1. From the Settings menu, select Options.
2. Go to the Tax Return tab.
3. Scroll down to the Federal Tax Options section.
4. Locate the Presidential Campaign Fund.
