Unexpected Behavior: ProSeries crashing after latest update (Updated 3/29/2021)

Some users have reported that running Windows updates and installing optional Windows updates have successfully resolved the crashes that were happening while printing, saving, and/or e-filing. For more information from Microsoft, see the March 2021 release health report. If you are uncomfortable applying Windows updates please check with your local IT for additional assistance. 

Windows Updates and Optional updates for Windows 10 can be applied if you're experiencing crashes in ProSeries or other applications.

To run Windows updates:

  1. Type Windows in the search area on the task bar on your desktop.
  2. Select Windows Update Settings.
  3. Click the button to select Check for Updates.

To install optional Windows updates:

  1. In the Windows search type Windows Update and choose Windows Update Settings
  2. On the right, click on the View optional updates link.

  3. Select the box for the update and select Download and install.

After running the updates, please be sure to restart the machines before launching ProSeries again.

Some users may experience program performance issues while using ProSeries after the latest update.
