Individual 1040 MeF Production Shutdown/Cutover Schedule

Shutdown begins on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, in order to prepare the system for the upcoming Tax Year 2020 Filing Season.

Update: ProSeries Tax will begin blocking these returns at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time to ensure that all returns in our system have time to process prior to the IRS shutdown.

Important Note: We recommend that states try to retrieve all submissions and submit the acknowledgements before the scheduled shutdown. If for some reason states are not able to retrieve the submissions or submit the acknowledgements they can do so after the shutdown.

Shutdown Deadlines on Saturday, November 21, 2020

Transmitters:

Transmitting Submissions (State & Federal) 10:00 p.m. Eastern  time.

Important Note: Business (BMF) returns are not impacted by this IMF Production Shutdown/Cutover schedule.

The BMF Production Shutdown/Cutover schedule will be communicated in a QuickAlerts bulletin, outlining the exact timeframes, in early December and the times will be posted on the MeF Operational Status page.

Please monitor the MeF Operational Status page for any updates. We apologize for any inconveniences and thank you for your cooperation.
