Stop Using Internet Explorer

MarvinPS

In ProSeries 2020, I clicked on the View Article link in an Alert and your program opened it up in Internet Explorer.

STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER.  IT IS OUT OF DATE.

Change your programming to use either EDGE or FIREFOX  or CHROME.

Microsoft updates Internet Explorer using its Windows Update feature. As long as you are regularly installing Windows updates from Microsoft, the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed.

It is likely that you currently have Internet Explorer's compatibility mode turned on. This setting essentially reverts your browser to an earlier version of Internet Explorer so that you can view content that is designed for older web browsers.

If your browser does not have this option for compatibility mode then it is possible you are running an outdated version of Internet Explorer. You can update your browser to the latest version of Internet Explorer by visiting the following page and carrying out the steps in the instructions:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/internet-explorer/downloads/ie

Microsoft will end support for Internet Explorer 11 across its Microsoft 365 apps and services next year, on August 17th, 2021,

@itonewbie   ProSeries has always FORCED Internet Explorer, regardless of the default browser.  It is quite annoying.

We're working on it. Most of the product has been updated to use your default browser.. but not all as you've noticed.  In the case of Alerts/Notifications we're using a Microsoft Component to display the list of messages, and it's handling the link click and firing off Internet Explorer.  I'll see if I can address quickly and easily; but it might require a bit more work to get that onto a newer component that offers more flexibility/control.

Sometimes when I click the View Article link in an Alert I get  a script error window that pops up and never goes away no matter which option I choose.

Ive taken to just copying the address from the IE address bar and pasting it into a different browser.
