Maryland Form 500 needs to be updated for legislative updates

PiscesQueen

Proseries claims that the Maryland corporate return is final after changes were made to reflect the legislative changes made in February 2021 for the 2020 filing season.  New form 500LU is now available.  However, Form 500 has not been modified to include new Line 8b(1) under Maryland subtractions, which is required to accept the information flowing from Form 500LU.

In other words, the changes made in Proseries are NOT USEFUL.  And overrides made to Form 500 to add the subtraction modification are not useful for electronic filing.

Please update Form 500 to reflect ALL the changes needed to accomodate the legislative changes.

PiscesQueen,

Proseries released the updated Form 500 and 500LU approximately two weeks ago.  Included in the update were changes to the Form 500 (adding line 8b.1).

Amounts entered on the Form 500LU Subtractions section on line 4 will flow to line 8b.1 on the Form 500.   See screen shot below of the most current release of the product.

Please verify you have updated the product for all current releases and review line 8b.1  If you are still experiencing this issue, post again in this conversation and I will continue to investigate it.

Best,

I have updated within the past two hours on May 25.  I also did Update Refresh.  My MD 500 still does not have Line 8 b 1.  And my MD 500 LU indicates that the form is still not EF ready.  Will it be EF ready by July 15?  And will 500 be ready by that date?

PQ49,

When you are using the software, can you please review the version and component data to ensure the version you are receiving is the most up to date, please?

Under the Help menu, click "About Proseries".

Click on the Blue tab labeled "Version".

Please confirm for Component S2020MD500 the Version Number is "2020.5.0.0"

Next click on the Blue tab labeled "Component".

Please confirm for Component (wmdcpro) maryland corporation the Version Number is "20994".

This will help me know if you are receiving the correct release versions.

I can confirm the Form 500LU is available for efile.  I am still unable to reproduce the issue related to line 8b.1 that you describe above.  I will assume that your issue has been resolved if you don't respond in this thread.

Mark, I was away for the holiday and did not see your messages until today.  I did check the version number and component numbers.  They are the ones you mentioned.  I still cannot get the MD 500 to behave as you describe.  Is there any hope that you could log into my computer?  I will be in the office on Friday.

Could we do this on Friday?  How about noon Eastern time?  I am not sure how to set this up.

I am having the same issue.  MD is rejecting my Form 500 returns because form 500LU is not flowing onto the MD Form 500 line 8b.1.  The program doesn't show this line on screen, but does show when printed...does not put a number line 8b.1.

SD1269, several technicians are working with me on this problem with the understanding that I am the ONLY ONE who has it.  It seems that my MD corporate program, while it indicates that updates have been downloaded and installed, has not changed the 500 form since January 8; that is why the 500LU is not flowing.

I am so glad to see that it is NOT JUST ME.

They have assured me that they will have a fix before July 15.  Maybe it will be easier now that they know that it IS NOT JUST ME.
