For clients who elect deferral of 2020 self-employment taxes to 2021 and 2022, Proseries doubles up the deferral amount on the 2020 "Payments" line at the bottom of the Tax Planner Summary. This overstates the payments made by the amount of the deferral. The "Payments" row works fine on other reports, like the 2 Year Comparison and Tax History.
Proseries support says the program is working as designed so I guess the design was wrong. The fix per Proseries customer support was to 1) override the calculated amount and put my own amount in each time I have a deferral client and 2) posting bug to "suggested ideas" to see if Proseries will fix it Seems to me as though if no one has already reported a bug, the bug can't exist. Yikes.
