I thought we had 3 years from the filing date to e-file a tax return? I'm trying to e-file a return for a client from the 2017 tax year. Can I no longer do this? I keep trying to e-file it but it seems to be stuck on "ready to transmit"

Nope - e-filing for 2017 ended in November. You can still paper file until 4/15 though.
This week's special - free roadrunner dinner with every return (legal disclaimer - you catch it and we'll cook it)
